Brandon Hobson is the author of four novels, most recently The Removed. His novel Where the Dead Sit Talking was a finalist for the National Book Award and won the Reading the West Book Award, among other distinctions. His middle-grade book, The Storyteller, will be out from Scholastic in May 2023. His short stories have won a Pushcart Prize and have appeared in The Best American Short Stories, McSweeney’s Quarterly, Conjunctions, NOON, and elsewhere. He teaches creative writing at New Mexico State University and in the low-residency MFA program at the Institute of American Indian Arts. Hobson is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
