Azareen Van der Vliet Oloomi is a novelist and essayist. Her novel Call Me Zebra won the 2019 PEN/Faulkner Award and was longlisted for the PEN Open Book Award. She is the recipient of a Whiting Award and a National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 Award. She lives in New York City and in South Bend, Indiana.
