Hiya Swanhuyser’s writing has appeared previously in The Believer, as well as in 7×7, SF Weekly, KQED Arts, Fandor’s Keyframe, Otis Nebula, Petals and Bones, Mission Local, and San Francisco. She grew up on a family farm in the counterculture, and is interested in public drinking fountains and Freedom Riders. She is at work on a book about the Montgomery Block, a lost bohemian refuge of San Francisco’s North Beach.
