Joel Whitney is the author of Finks: How the CIA Tricked the World’s Best Writers, which The New Republic called “a powerful warning,” and Flights: Radicals on the Run. He is the recipient of the PEN/Nora Magid Award for Magazine Editing for his work as a founding editor of Guernica, as well as the Discovery/The Nation Joan Leiman Jacobson Poetry Prize of the Unterberg Poetry Center.
