Lorraine Boissoneault is a journalist and writer who covers nature, history, archaeology, language, adventure, and anything else that catches her attention. Previously a staff writer for Smithsonian magazine and a digital editor for the Weather Channel, she has published work in Playboy, The Atlantic, Forbes, Salon, Mental Floss, PassBlue, and many other publications. She is the author of The Last Voyageurs: Retracing La Salle’s Journey across America: Sixteen Teenagers on the Adventure of a Lifetime (Pegasus Books, 2016), a work of narrative nonfiction and a finalist for the Chicago Writers Association Book of the Year Award. She lives in Chicago with her husband.
