Sharon Marcus is the Orlando Harriman Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. She is the author, most recently, of The Drama of Celebrity (Princeton University Press, 2019) and is the editor in chief of Public Books, an online magazine dedicated to bringing cutting-edge scholarly ideas to the public. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times Book Review, The Wall Street Journal, and Pacific Standard, among other places.
