In this workshop, Jarett Sitter teaches us to draw comics about music. Watch the video of the livestream below and follow these steps to illustrate your scene!

First, draw your template! You’ll need two small panels at the top, and a larger panel spanning the width of the page in the second row.

For the first panel, think about a musical act — it can be your favorite musician, a fictional musician — whatever you feel like! Take about seven minutes and draw the musical act you’re thinking of—whether it’s real or imagined.

For the second panel, think about an environment or location where you’d want to listen to the musician you selected. This can be anywhere: your favorite local venue, your car, or a place that would compliment the music.

Final panel! Here everything comes together. Draw yourself listening to the musician you chose in the environment you chose.
